No, I don't think she wants to leave, but all characters get rested for a bit. Even the biggest stars on the show, especially the biggest stars on the show really. And Ali is now one of the biggest stars with the most screentime right now, that can't last forever. No one wants her to leave but that is just how these soaps work. Marlena was really the biggest star on the show and she took A LOT of breaks and vacations I noticed.

yep, it does tend to follow that when an actor/character becomes the main focus for too long, they put them on hiatus for a bit. Peter Reckell is the next to "rest". he will be out for about a month.

it won't hurt for Sami to be out for a time. Rafe can discover his wife didn't really die after all and has been trying to get back to him all this time. maybe she's been in witness protection herself and just got out. they can fall in each others' arms and leave. permanently.

then, when they rest EJ by sending him to prison or hiding on a DiMera island, Lucas can return and he and Sami can finally be together without anything to stand in their way.

I like the way you think, nala! I agree in that Sami needs to be rested when this babyswitch storyline is over. She has been on 24/7, even through her prenancy. Enough is enough.
