Casting Call (Possible Sami recast?)

There's a new casting call for a woman named "Alicia". Now anyone who is familiar with casting calls knows that they usually use a name that is a play on words related to characters and/or actors already on canvas. But the name they use for the casting call isn't necessarily the name of the character. (for instance Rafe's casting call was for someone named "Robbie" a play on Lucas's last name Roberts which essentially meant Rafe was "replacing" Lucas)

Norma from 2C suggested that "Alicia" could possibly be a play on Alison & Alice Horton's names put together, Alison for Ali Sweeney and Alice for little Allie since Sami's daughter's full name is Alice Caroline Horton. And when you read the description for "Alicia", it sure does sound like Sami, or at least the way she used to be. Check it out:

Now I don't mind another sassy woman on canvas to rival Sami but how would you feel about a Sami recast? I would hate it and it would give me just the excuse to turn my back on Days forever. No Lucas OR Sami recast for me EVER!

I immediately thought of Nicole when I saw the casting call. Also, Kyle Lowder, AZ's husband, just got fired from B&B. He has been pursuing his singing career in Italy, so I wonder if they could possibly be moving there or spending a good amount of time there, which may necessitate her leaving the show.

Sami never entered my mind, but it could be her as well, possibly. However, they already work around Ali's schedule and she only works three days now, so I can't see her leaving. She loves the limelight too much.

Yeah some people thought Nicole too but this definitely could apply to Sami as well, at least the old Sami who was nobody's victim, lol. Both women are drop dead gorgeous and go after what they want. Both have a sharp wit and don't care what anyone thinks. Nicole is still like that to a point although her association with EJ makes her weak IMO. Sami was exacty like this until EJ entered the picture. So when you think about it this description perfectly fits both ladies. But the name "Alicia" is what made Norma and some of us think of Sami. Anyway, we'll see. I do agree that Ali likes the limelight and so far Days has done everything to accomodate her hectic schedule. But remember that she has been in contract negotiations lately and rumours have been swirling about her possibly leaving. I'm done with this show the MINUTE Ali leaves. I can't take a Sami recast under any circumstances just like I wouldn't be able to accept a Lucas recast. I'm a true blue Lumi fan and that means Lucas & Sami played by their ORIGINAL portrayers. No lame ass substitutes for me.

The casting call does fit the original Sami, but not the new "heroine" they are trying to create. I agree, a Sami recast would be intolerable; I can't even imagine it. If anything, I can see them write her out, but not recast her. On the other hand, it may be a ploy by TPTB to get her to sign her contract.

maybe this is true cause Alis contract expires in september and she haven't renewed her contract yet... so maybe they'll recast Sami

but i would hate it if they recast them both... i only want Bryli as Lumi...
