What I find funny is that they ranked Saustin higher than Rapemi, lol! Both were highly obsessive, one-sided, stalker “relationships”. As for Brami, I agree that they should have ranked higher than both Rapemi & Saustin because at least theirs was a genuine romance. Although for some odd reason I can kind of see why all three were listed.
Like it or not, Saustin played a huge factor in Sami's life for almost all of her teen years/early adulthood. As sick and twisted as it was, this "pairing" undoubtedly helped define the Sami Brady character as a troubled, yet spunky villainous who many viewers ironically sympathized with and eventually grew to love.
Rapemi on the other hand portrayed Sami in a completely different light and in a sense was a total reflection of Saustin, only this time Sami was the object of EJ's obsession. Sadly this "pairing" turned Sami into the pathetic, weak minded, damsel in distress VICTIM we are so used to seeing today. And I guess since they "supposedly" share 2 children, they couldn't exactly leave them off the list.
As for Brami, when you think about it Brandon was the first man who actually loved Sami the way Sami wanted to be loved all her life. For the most part he was in love with her and she was his first choice. Unlike Austin & Lucas who were always hung up on other women, Brandon was interested in Sami and was the first man to make her feel desirable and for that, I can see why they were ranked.
Now Safe wasn’t included at all and I can also see why. They have no spark, no story, no drama, not even an obsession, nothing really that makes them special or at the very least “significant” enough to be listed.
And as for Lucas’s other pairings, I can see why none of them ranked because although Lucas was well known in Salem as a “ladies’ man”, he really didn’t have another love story or anything even substantial to speak of. There was Lucas/Nicole which once again was one-sided and more of an infatuation than anything else (Lucas always had a thing for the model types). Then of course Lucas/Carrie or as many like to call them, Carcas, was not as obsessive as Saustin but it was still one-sided and always made Lucas look totally pathetic. He was like this stupid schoolboy with a serious teenage crush that prolonged into adulthood. I’m just glad that when he finally got to be with Carrie in 2006, he realized that she was boring and that life with her was not the bed of roses he thought it would it be. And then of course there was Lucas/Chloe which was a complete and total REBOUND from the get go which can only spell disaster for everyone involved.
Now Lumi is in a class by itself and deservingly so which is why they were included in the top 10, a distinction obviously reserved for the supercouples. So no explanation needed.
