| Sad news, Days of our Lives fans: Bryan Dattilo, who first joined the show back in 1993 as Lucas Roberts, has been let go. According to Soap Opera Digest, before Days went on hiatus for the holidays, Bryan was told that the show wouldn't be picking up his "next cycle" ... which, in laymen's terms, means Lucas will be moving on to bigger and better things (at least, we hope). His current contract officially expires in February 2010. The news was confirmed by Bryan's manager, who told Soap Opera Digest, "He has taped his last episode." While we're guessing Bryan was surprised by the non-renewal, we know for a fact that his costars were shocked. Costar Alison Sweeney, whose Sami Brady shares two children with Lucas, took to her Twitter page to say: "I didn't know it was his last day. I'm seriously devastated." Another costar, Taylor Spreitler (Mia), said it even simpler on her Twitter: "Bryan= " Besides his work on Days, Bryan has been seen on a number of TV shows, including Doogie Howser, M.D., Charles in Charge, Saved by the Bell, and CSI: NY. Good luck, Bryan! We here at SOAPnet.com hope you return to our TV screens very soon! Do you have a favorite Lucas moment or storyline?
